Theme Reveal!
If you missed the opening ceremony:
TL;DR: The theme is education, and you may now start hacking! Do not hesitate to ask questions in the discord help channels. If you're having trouble coming up with an idea, we encourage you to come to our idea brainstorming office hours from 8 to 9 PM on our discord server. We wish you the best of luck on your projects!
The theme of Recess Hacks is, broadly speaking, education! Related projects can include a lot more than you may think. We are interpreting this theme broadly, to encourage all of you to put worth whatever ideas you may have.
Since the start of the pandemic, our education has been affected greatly. As lockdown restrictions forced many schools to pivot to the virtual setting, we’ve seen the hiccups in online education and the loss of various learning opportunities.
Take the experiences of yourself and others to inspire you to create solutions! We encourage you to use technology to make creative projects that will further enrich the education system.
Your project could be related to education, like making the learning experience better. Or, it could be related to school: making the school experience better, and not just in terms of learning, but the whole package, perhaps. Or, some other topic in the realm of education.
If you’re having trouble coming up with an idea, we highly encourage you to head over to our Discord server tonight from 8PM-9PM, for our idea brainstorming office hours. Our mentors will prioritize any questions you have relating to project ideas, and help you come up with a solid idea.
